Sarah Jones

Sarah Jones' upward career path, as a successful communications expert, has evolved within international, market-leading companies. Her ability to relate well to people at all levels, has been pivotal to her success in managing effective relationships with target audiences, as indeed has her proficiency in three European languages.

Sarah began her PR career with Write Image (now operating as Metia), a full service marketing and communications agency with a range of high profile clients including Wall Street Systems, Reuters, and Microsoft. Her role as Account Manager, working under direct guidance of the founding directors, was to develop the business and support their expansion from 20 to 150 staff.

Moving on to work with Porter Novelli International (PNI) market leading public relations company, Sarah enjoyed working with a range of international clients including companies such as: Datingdirect.com; Google; Mencap and Hotpoint. Sarah's next move, which broadened her horizons and experience even further, was to give herself a period working as a freelance communications consultant. Sarah worked with a number of different companies including: The Forster Company, a social and environmental affairs agency, and Hotwire PR.

The next major move took Sarah to DHL Logistics. Her position as Head of External Communications for DHL Logistics meant that she developed and led global communications programmes for the entire Company. Here she sat on integration board for £3.8bn merger led by CEO John Allan; took direct responsibility for leading a UK based team of up to six staff; accepted 'dotted line' responsibility for up to 30 International teams. Sarah enjoyed a stint with NHS Supply Chain - a stand-alone DHL/NHS organisation with 2,200 employees which was Europe's largest ever public/private outsourcing deal. In the role of Head of Communications and Stakeholder Relations she was responsible for developing all internal and external communications, At this point Sarah was managing a team of 11 staff with responsibility for an operating budget of £1m pa.

At Abbott Nutrition, she led all internal and external communications to include PR, government affairs, key opinion leader development, and launched an employee recognition scheme which improved focus and morale amongst staff in the EMEA region.
